Chitlang Getaway

About this journey

Chitlang sits at about 1,600 m on the far side of the Chandragiri ridge, an hour and a half from Kathmandu but a long way from it in every other sense. It is a Newar farming village on the old trade route to the Terai, with a goat cheese farm, an organic winery and a reservoir at Kulekhani a short walk below. Most people come for one night, walk in over the ridge from Thankot, and drive out.
